Postage increase for items up to 2kg

Royal Mail's prices have gone up for small packets & packets. Sadly, we've had to do the same.

So how much is it?
£4.75 for items up to (and including) 2kg, sent to an address within the UK.

That's a modest 13% increase from our previous £4.20 flat rate.  We've done this to absorb the different price changes that Royal Mail have applied.  For example, they have:

  • increased their Recorded Delivery fee by 23% from 77p to 95p
  • increased the under 750g fees to a flat rate that in some cases is 70% higher than under the old tariff

So our modest price increase doesn't relect the full increase we are dealing with.

What about items over 2kg?
There's no change to our postage rates for items over 2kg.

When is this price increase being applied?
We'll be setting this price change after close of business on Tuesday 15th May 2012.  (We have managed to delay this for a couple of weeks).

Want to know more?
There's an analysis on the BBC site of how the Royal Mail rate increase is affecting people.  (Wouldn't it be nice to see some news of price decreases now and again).

One more thing to remember.
If we are dropshipping for you, you'll probably want to make changes to prices on your website.
