How do I register to see prices and buy on-line?

  • The easiest way to register with The Solar Trader is to fill in our on-line form here: On-line Application Form.

  • For on-line applications please fill in as much detail as possible, including a web address if you have an online shop and contact details for any additional staff we may need to deal with.

  • Please choose your email address carefully, as we will use this for all correspondence regarding your orders.
  • Please use the pop-up calendar to fill in dates.
  • If you are a drop shipper, we recommend that you attach a logo in the "Company" section of the form. Your logo is displayed on any drop ship notes that we create for you.
  • The "Other details" section helps us to decide whether to assign you to a drop ship or wholesale pricing structure. If you tick "Do you intend to use our drop ship service" then we will assign you to the drop ship pricing structure. If you tick "Do you intend to hold stock" we will assign you to a wholesale pricing structure with a minimum order of £ 175. If you tick both, you will be assigned to drop shipping.
  • If you wish to use a combination of drop shipping and wholesale orders we suggest you place drop ship orders online, and call or email us to place a wholesale order.

     

  • You can also print out the form here Application Form fill it in manually and post it to us.

  • Once we have received your application we will review your details before making your account live. We will email you when your application has been accepted, usually within one working day.

What prices are shown on the web site?

  • If you are not logged in, prices shown on our web site are recommended retail prices in pounds sterling (£) including VAT at UK rates.

  • If you are a reseller, shop or trader, and would like to view our standard trade prices, please fill in the on-line application form here. Otherwise please contact us for your nearest stockist.

  •  If you have an account with us and are logged in you will see your discounted prices excluding VAT.

  1. If you are on the Drop Ship price list you will only see Drop Ship prices. If you wish to view Wholesale prices you will need to contact us.

  2. If you are on the Wholesale price list the default prices are for £ 175 minimum order. There will be a Pricing Options tab in the header bar that has a drop-down menu to allow you to change this to view discounts for larger minimum order values.

  3. If you are on the Wholesale price list you will not be able to place a drop ship order on-line. Please contact us to place your order or to change your price list.

  • We reserve the right to alter product prices on the website to reflect any increase in the cost of the products for reasons beyond our reasonable control, this may include (but is not limited to) pricing mistakes, tax or other duty increases.

  • Whilst we make every effort to ensure that all prices on our website are accurate and up to date sometimes errors do occur and the prices stated are incorrect. The correct price should be taken as the one displayed in the basket at checkout. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.

How do I place an order?

  • To place an order you need to be a reseller, shop or trader and you will need to have an account with us. To set up an account you will need to fill in our Trader Account Application form.

  • To place an order on-line you will need to be registered and logged in. Please contact us for a log-in name and password if you do not already have one.

  • You can also place an order by phone (call 01708 223733), e-mail ([email protected]).

  • Please be sure to include our product codes – if you don't include the product codes this could delay your order being despatched.

  • We will acknowledge receipt of your order by email, fax or verbally by phone, and let you know an estimated delivery date.

  • By placing an order with The Solar Trader you accept our Terms and Conditions. Please make sure you have read and understood these.

How do I make a purchase on-line?

  •  To purchase on-line you need to have an account with us and you need to have a log-in name and password. To set up an account you will need to fill in our Trader Account Application. We will then send you a log-in name and password

  • By purchasing on-line from The Solar Trader you accept our Terms and Conditions. Please make sure you have read and understood these.

  • You can only make a purchase on-line if  you are logged in.

  • Click on the "add to cart" button next to the product you wish to purchase, and it will be automatically added to your shopping cart. You can then checkout or continue shopping.

  • CHECKOUT PROCESS FOR WHOLESALE ORDERS

  1. If  you are on a Wholesale price list you will only be able to proceed with payment if your order reaches the minimum order value. You can change this in the Pricing Options tab in the headerbr.
  2. At stage 1 of checkout, your registered invoice and delivery details will be filled in automatically. Check the order value and then proceed to payment.
  3. At stage 2 of checkout fill in your payment details. If you wish to pay by Paypal, BACS or cheque select the Cheque option and send your payment separately. Paypal payments go to [email protected].
  • CHECKOUT PROCESS FOR DROP SHIP ORDERS

  1. If your order is going to a new customer you will need to Create a New Customer. If you have already sent an item to your customer their details will be stored; simply select their name.
  2. At stage 2 of checkout fill in your payment details. If you wish to pay by Paypal, BACS or cheque select the Cheque option and send your payment separately. Paypal payments go to [email protected],uk.

  3. Also at stage 2 of checkout you can attach your customer's delivery note. We will print this out and use it. The best format for us to receive delivery notes is PDF.

  4. Please ensure delivery notes include our product code, product name, quantity and your customer's delivery address.

  5. If you do not attach a delivery note we will generate one for you using the logo you provided when you registered on-line.

  • You will receive e-mail notifications when we receive your order, when your order has been accepted, and when we dispatch the goods.

What payment methods do you accept?

  • We accept most major credit/debit cards, with the exception of American Express.

    Payment Cards
  • We accept payment through PayPal, but due to PayPal's terms, you will need to send PayPal payments separately. At checkout choose the Cheque option and complete your transaction. Then go to your Paypal account and make a 'send money' payment to [email protected]. Please remember to put your order number or company name in the Message section in PayPal. Your goods will not be despatched until your payment shows in our PayPal account.

  • We can accept cheques drawn in pounds sterling, but your goods will not be despatched until the cheque has cleared. Please make cheques payable to Select Solar Ltd.

  • If you would like to pay by bank transfer please contact us for details.

Can I have a credit account?

  • Credit accounts can only be set up subject to satisfactory references and credit checks, and where you have an established trading history.
  • You will need to contact us to ask for a credit application form.
  • Once we have received your completed credit application form we will let you know what your credit limit is.
  • Credit accounts are strictly 30 days. Where your account is overdue, or if you are over your credit limit we will ask you to clear your account in full before we despatch your order.
  • Late payment will result in withdrawal of credit.

Will I get an invoice?

  • Yes. A VAT invoice will be posted to you separately.

I'm not in the UK. What currency will I be charged in?

  • Prices on the web site are shown in Pounds sterling. If you are making a purchase from outside the UK using a credit card then your card provider will charge your card the equivalent amount in your local currency. The exchange rate is determined by your card provider.

  • If you are purchasing from within the EU you will be charged VAT at the current UK rate which is included in the price shown on the web site.

  • If you are purchasing from outside the EU you will not be charged VAT so your price will be lower than that displayed on the web site.
